Mandela Day is a reminder to all of us that we each have the power to make a difference. This year, the Green World South Africa Johannesburg team decided to make that difference felt through a heartfelt food donation drive<\/strong> to two amazing orphanages: Mother of Peace Community<\/strong> in Randburg and Maria Orphanage<\/strong> in Boksburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Stop: Mother of Peace Community<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our morning began at the Mother of Peace Community<\/strong>, a warm and welcoming orphanage home to many beautiful children. The excitement on their faces as we arrived was unforgettable. We were honored to meet the founder of the organization<\/strong>, who shared inspiring stories of hope, love, and resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We delivered essential groceries \u2014 rice, cooking oil, canned goods, fresh fruits, and more. We shared laughs, songs, and lots of joy. The children were not just healthy \u2014 they were full of life, grateful for the visit, and happy to connect with people who care. It was a reminder of how powerful love and kindness can be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second Stop: Maria Orphanage, Boksburg<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Later in the day, we made our way to Maria Orphanage<\/strong> in Boksburg. There, we were greeted by energetic children who welcomed us with big smiles and open hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We handed out food parcels and spent quality time with the little ones. Some danced, some sang, others just wanted hugs \u2014 but they all left a mark on our hearts. Seeing their joy was the biggest reward of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mandela once said: “There can be no greater gift than that of giving one\u2019s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return.”<\/em> \u2014 and that’s exactly what we lived out on this special day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
